Background

I was born in Lexington, VA and moved to Richmond, VA in 2002 where I attended the Collegiate School. In 2012, I received my BA in Government and Environmental Studies from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, where I was a 4-year letter winner on the varsity Men’s Lacrosse team. At St. Lawrence, I discovered a passion for environmental/energy policy and upon graduation took the opportunity to join a solar development company – Secure Futures – based in Virginia. At Secure Futures, I worked in all aspects of an entrepreneurial company: sales, finance, marketing, strategy and worked on many legislative initiatives to advance commercial and utility scale solar in Virginia. Additionally, I served as President of the Virginia Renewable Energy Alliance (VA-REA).

Career Path

To date, my career focus has been on renewable energy – primarily through finance and policy. I am excited to be involved in Kenan-Flagler’s unique Energy program. I hope to further develop concrete financial skills, and gain a holistic understanding of the energy industry through academics, research and the industry professionals here at Kenan-Flagler. A long-term goal is to make a sustainable impact in the ever-changing energy industry.

Interests and Hobbies

As an enthusiast of almost any sport, I enjoy attempting to still play most, and certainly watching with family, friends and fans. I enjoy hiking, and have hiked Mt. Whitney – the highest mountain in the 48 contiguous states – where I ate a famous Nathan’s hotdog at the summit.
