Market-Based Solutions to Vital Economic Issues

Background

My undergraduate institution was Bowdoin College, where I studied Government and Legal Studies and Economics. In addition, I was a 4-year member of both the Men’s Varsity Soccer and Lacrosse teams and served as co-captain of both teams as a senior.

Career Path

My most recent employer was PGIM Global Investment Management, where I worked for PGIM Real Estate in their asset management group. There, I was responsible for helping increase the value of various commercial real estate assets through negotiating lease deals and managing capital expenditure projects. Prior to PGIM, I worked for Eastdil Secured which is a large commercial real estate brokerage firm. There, I underwrote various commercial real estate transactions, and helped sell office buildings on behalf of our clients. I chose Kenan-Flagler because of the school’s strong real estate, entrepreneurship and sustainability programs, and will concentrate in real estate. In the long term, I hope to make an impact on the commercial real estate industry by championing the economic benefits that come with sustainable investments.

Interests and Hobbies

As a Kenan Scholar, along with David Hartzell as my academic advisor, I am researching the economic benefits that come with making existing office buildings more energy efficient. I believe that energy efficient upgrades are sound economic investments for landlords, and my study intends to prove that these upgrades can result in lower utility expenses, increased building NOI, and increased asset value. In my free time, I like to play soccer and spend time with family and friends.
