Carolina Entrepreneurial Initiative
"turning ideas into enterprises"

Faculty Seminars

Carolina Seminars have promoted interdisciplinary thought, study and intellectual exchanges among UNC faculty since their inception in 1991.

The Carolina Seminar in Entrepreneurship, launched in Fall 2004, provides a forum for faculty from all disciplines to examine the impact and opportunities provided by entrepreneurial scholarship and education in the university environment.

This seminar challenges faculty to consider how entrepreneurial ideas may empower their scholarly work and increase the university's contributions to the state and world.

This fall, UNC Biology Department Chair Steve Matson will lead a series of seminars focused on scientific entrepreneurship at UNC and its potential impact for students and faculty at UNC.
